Burn speed set in iTunes will only affect CDs that you burn from iTunes I believe. If you are burning a disc from the Finder or any other app, you will either be prompted for the burn speed, or you can select one in the Preferences for that app.
Letting it burn at maximum possible usually works out fine, though as my drive has gotten older I can now only burn CDs at the slow speed. Burning at max results in errors.
Also, if you are going to be duplicating the disc you might be safer with a slower speed as there are less chances of having errors on the disc. The disc may even play fine, but when you go to duplicate or replicate it any errors will cause you a problem.

Very large stills like that always look like total crap until you do a “Render All” (Option-R). Render times are pretty serious too, but it usually looks pretty good. Sometimes I leave them large like that, especially if I am going to “push-in” to a part of the still. I have had to use the “Anti Alias” filter in some cases too.
If you do need to resize, and it looks like you probably do, Photoshop is the go-to app for all tasks like that. But it is not cheap. If you HAVE to get something out without spending money, you can actually do this in QuickTime Pro. Open the image, press Apple-J to get properties, click on “Video Track” and go to the “Visual Settings” tab. From here you can scale it and re-save it.
Hope this helps.

If you are using 10-bit YUV you might run into this problem, especially if you have Motion Blur turned on. Right-click your sequence and go to Settings… Click on the Video Processing tab and select 8-bit YUV, then try to render.
Again, this is IF you are using 10-bit YUV (which is for the most part entirely broken if used for anything other than straight cutting). The more info you can give us about your project settings the better we can help.

What happens when you press Option-R?

Apple’s Keynote program will open most PowerPoint presentations, and it will export a QuickTime. It’s been a while since I’ve had to do this, but it worked for me. If I remember right I may have had to “tweak” a few things after I brought it into Keynote.

Try mixing to around -6db and see if that helps. You could actually probably go to -3db, but you must be very careful about clipping. If your audio was produced by a professional audio production facility then it should all be balanced/equalized and you should be fine. If not, just run down each spot watching the audio meters for clipping.
Hope this helps!

May 31, 2006 at 2:37 pm in reply to: Exporting to Movie, no matter what codec, things aren’t rightThis is because what you are seeing IS anamorphic. In other words anamorphic video IS squeezed, so it is actually exporting exactly what you are working with, but your broadcast monitor and FCP adjust for it. To get around this drop your anamorphic sequence into a non-anamorphic timeline and export from there. You will probably end up with a letterboxed 4:3 exported movie. Hope this helps.

Just open the nest and copy the contents. Then go back to your original timeline and paste over the nest.
