Heh… Uh, hope my boss isn’t reading this… 😉
I do have a game or 2 installed on my Mac (not installed on my system drive), but that is really only after years of running FCP on my personal laptop while running my own business. I was so impressed at the multi-tasking of the Mac platform that I started pushing it a bit just to see what she could do. I found that running FCP3, After Effects 5.5, and Photoshop 7 all at the same time worked out just fine, so long as I didn’t have too much going in any one of them at the same time. Now, in PS I might have had a logo open that I was tweaking, and AE might have up a simple text animation I was working on. FCP3 was just using DV footage at the time also, and it really did all work at the same time.
Obviously if I am working on a time-sensitive, really important project I would not try to push it too much. It’s in the “slower” times that I have tried my crazy multi-tasking feats.
I do remember back when I was first using NLE’s and it was a huge taboo to even have the internet connected. Times have changed…
