Think I would like a dynamic, hand-held mic rather than a condenser on a stand.

Takes up less space on my already cluttered desk!

    Any thoughts?

I found that the disk was read-only, and Xpress Pro took exception to the database files in the Media Files folder. Wouldn’t let me do anything. Maybe the Paragon thing you are talking about would help.

Below is the response I got from Wacom. I haven’t tried it yet as we were up against a deadline, but I’m going to try just disabling the “Wacom Virtual HID” with the version of the driver that I have at the moment, before I go through all the deleting of files that they are suggesting!

1- please remove your tablet driver and download the latest one available at:
    https://www.wacom-europe.com/index2.asp?lang=en&pid=29

a.) Reset the preference files in the wacom/pen tablet folder.
Go to Start=>Programs=>Wacom/Pen Tablet=>Preference File Utility
    Now delete ALL.

b.) Please uninstall all drivers again. Go to Control Panel=>Add or Remove Programs
Now remove the Pen Tablet / Wacom Tablet. After a restart go to the search engine and look for the
    files
    tablet*.*
    wacom*.*
    pentab*.*
    wintab*.*
    Pen_Tablet.exe
    Pen_Tablet.dll
    Pen_TabletUser.exe
    PenTablet.cpl
    PenTablet.znc
    Touch_Tablet.dll
    Wintab32.dll
    WTouchAPI.dll
    WTouchCPL.exe
    WTouchService.exe
    WTouchUser.exe

    and delete them.
As well delete the folders TABLET and WTABLET.
Please make sure, that you have hidden files included to the search.
Look in the System32 folder if the wintab*.* is deleted

In Vista64 there is a Wintab*.* in SYSTEM32 and in SYSWOW64.

2- You can now download the latest driver from: https://www.wacom.eu/index2.asp?lang=fr&pid=29&gm=4
Be sure to deactivate your antivirus before installing the tablet driver.

3- Then go to Windows device manager and disable the ‘Wacom Virtual HID’ device, and restart you computer.

So how far back do you have to go? Can anyone tell me which version of the driver does work with MC 3.5.4 and XP?

Think I’d rather have cans than in-ear ones.

If there is a utility to fix this, would be great to know.

Thankfully all my rushes bins are ok, and I have re-created the seq I was working on from eyeballing the BITC on a DVD I ran off, so not lost too much.

Next time I’ll only move bins with the app closed!

    Thanks,

Maybe not a lot of the clips, but enough to cause problems.

Is this an issue with using something like a J3 deck to didge footage via firewire. Can it sometimes miss breaks in timecode and cause problems with conforming?

On a related issue, what exactly did I gain by trying to conform at uncompressed (SD)?

When I put the offline seq above the online footage and toggled between the top layer on and off, there was only a tiny difference in picture quality.

Could I have saved myself a lot of pain by just grading and tweaking the DV footage in an online suite with a decent broadcast monitor?

    Sorry, speed up how much?

Then export a QT and re-import it?

then slow the QT down by 50%?

So, if I modify the sequence pre-set for uncompressed SD PAL (8-bit or 10-bit) and change the field order from upper first to lower first, what happens?

Just trying to get it clear in my head before I start for real this morning.
