If you installed the full version over the trial version, I’d try an uninstall…and a reinstall as it sounds like PPro didn’t download the res of the codecs that it needs in the retail version…

Are you running a trial of Premiere Pro?

If you have a serialized version, there are some additional codecs that it needs to download/unlock…

Also, do you have any funky freeware/shareware codec packages installed? Those have been known to screw up the legitimate codecs on certain systems…

Try the media browser and see if the clips are accessible that way…

Have the clips been altered in any way from the camera’s file/directory structure?

Doesn’t Camtasia Studio just load the clip so you can simply convert it?

There is an app in the Camtasia suite on Windows that’s an “editor/converter” sort of thing that does conversion pretty well.

Coming from a video editing background, the workflow is a little wonky, but I use it all the time and really like the results…very clean.

Of course the nice thing about Premiere Pro is you simply set up a sequence with the screen grab frame dimensions and frame rate and avoid scaling in the edit as well…

i know on QT, TechSmith (Camtasia’s manufacturer) has a codec they call “ensharpen”

…but I’m not sure that will handle the AVI-wrapped file for you.

If nothing else, Camtasia for Mac has a 30 day trial you could try to download and see if it can read the file:

What I’m asking is if you’re using the media browser window to first view the files and drag them in..or using an “import file” menu selection or right clicking in the project panel…

If you have an HDSDI video I/O card, you could rent a KiPro and make a ProRes master that way…even from a Windows machine.

You can certainly export XDcamHD422 MXF from PPro CS5.5…not sure why you’d want to master to 4:2:0 XDcamEX unless the client specified it as the only thing they can read.

It looks like damaged data in the source file…can you go back to the camera masters?

Otherwise…if all else is lost, will it allow you to zoom in?
