Yes, the sheen offset property is adjustable, but it isn’t animate-able…or key frame-able.

If I was going to do this, I would do it (as I assume the video shows you) with a track matte…

I typically make my matte of the edge and run the sheen across that…looks a little less everyday.

You could change one title, then save that style in your palette and then just click on it for the subsequent title documents vs having to scroll through the font list time after time.

I doubt there is any digital filter or effect that you can use to imitate composite video color bleed and contrast edge halo…

I think I used an ancient entry-level Laird CG at my first job in the mid 80’s that had that font…as I recall there were two…that one is “large and ugly” and I believe the other one was “small and unreadable”…

…life was simple back in those days.

I doubt you’ll need more than one trip through a VHS recording process to make your video look suitably awful.

I think that people do hear about the various GPU encoding approaches out in the field and assume that the GPU helps encode in AME. CUDA/OCL accelerate a lot of items, but decode and encode are CPU-based processes.

The GPU helps when encoding an edit timeline with accelerated effects is being encoded, not because it speeds the actual compression, but because it simply helps render the frame faster before it’s passed to the encoding process.

The preferences are set by you, so if you trash them, you’ll have to reset them…but there are times when the preferences can become corrupted and prevent the application from launching on occasion. If this is a fairly new install, it’s less likely to be the issue, but it never hurts to try.

I’m assuming you selected Media Encoder to be included in the install and that you see it installed and have an icon to launch it, etc…

I would try a new install as it doesn’t seem like the app shows itself at all…is this Windows or Mac?

Have you tried it without the BlackMagic card?

My thought would be that the decode/debayer combined with the conversion for the card might require more buffering…?

What happens if you try to preview render the timeline? (Not as a permanent solution, but a test…)

You need to nest the panel in a window instead of have it “float”.

The bin panel you’re referring to will go “behind” the interface once you choose any panel that is nested and connected to the larger interface layout.

My system as well…also helps when I’m travelling with a project that I’m flipping back and forth from the laptop to the desktop machine.

I also keep my LUTs, presets, frequently used logos and titles…synced between my computers and also saved in the “cloud” in Dropbox.
