  • Aw thanks,
    I don’t have CC though – I have version 5.

I made it work by just rotating the text a bit and it looks ok – but really would like to know how to adjust perspective – one anchor point at a time. Is anybody out there?

Oh forget it – it was something dumb – my layer was in the wrong spot and the color I was choosing was the same as the background color – duh!

  • Ok – I restarted AE and that stopped happening but when I try to paste the path from illustrator into AE there are like 500 masks made! In illustrator, it seems to be only one path. I’m using a brush to simulate a marker so maybe it’s because of the brush.

Also, the write-on effect brush only goes to 50 px which is not big enough to cover my stroke.

  • Great… thanks!

Now I’m having a problem where the stroke I’m making for the write-on effect is going BEHIND the image Im trying to draw on instead of in front of it. Any Idea why that would be?

every once in awhile it will work but most of the time it doesn’t. Glitchy i guess

  • omg – thank you!!!

  • Hey that kind of works if i want to do one at a time – but i have like 60 layers and I had chosen a bunch of the beginning keyframes at once and pulled them over off the timeline. Is there anyway to see them all so i can just lasso them and drag them over?

I’m trying to do this exact same thing.

What do you mean by “draw a circle in the Title”?

I’ve tried Generate circle and it makes a cutout circle for the video but I can’t figure out how to make it so the video is in a circle and it is superimposed over another video. I just see the video in the circle and it’s a solid color around the sides.

After that, I’m hoping to be able to move it around to music. i know how to do some of this in AfterEffects but it’s too hard to do anything to music in that program.

Wow, I had this problem again and found my own self asking the same question 2 years ago….
I checked what Vincent said and that was not the issue – none of those little boxes were checked.

I have now figured it out. It happens when I am tracing over images that I then have to cut a hole out of and then remove hole with the pathfinder. I need the opacity to be lowered so I can see the inside that will eventually be knocked out. Illustrator groups the shapes together even though one shape is no longer there.

All you need to do is select the image and ungroup (Command/Shift/G) and then the opacity will show up properly as not 100%.

    I hope this helps somebody!
I have Illustrator 5 so maybe they’ve fixed it in Illustrator 6 – I hope so!
