Hi Bob – Yeah it is not for clients at this point – just my personal music for the most part.
I definitely need to be more organized. There are some project folders per song but sometimes I record something and it just has a date because it’s not the name of a song yet so it might not be in a folder – like maybe lyrics will be added later so later the name will change. It’s too hard to remember song by song – that is too many projects. I just want to drag only the new stuff over and want something to analyze it so I don’t overwrite and lose stuff. So maybe I’ll try what Alex said, although he didn’t give a whole lot of info.

Yep just went back and checked and layer mode was on dissolve! I thought i had checked all that! Duh! Thanks!

At least it let me easily copy and paste the paths into the new file. Really though – does anyone know why this happened?

I figured it out – the Photoshop file has to be RGB to import as a comp. You learn something new every day. 🙂

Thanks – It kind of worked – didn’t seem to copy the keyframes the same way for some reason – but it got me close enough!

I did try the Video Copilot method using Generate Stroke on another part of my project which seems a little easier than write-on. Still haven’t figured out why write-on only goes so far and then starts erasing itself. I’ll get back to it soon and probably ask a more specific question.

I got that part to work – I keyframed the opacity of the masks – although it takes a while! It wouldn’t allow me to select all of them and make the change at once the way it does in layers. I will keep that in mind for the future.
Is there a way to divide parts of the layer into more layers in AE or would I have had to do that in Photoshop?

It is not in a nested comp. It is really simple but not allowing me to drag the bar longer out into the comp.
It is just a sky on one layer and grass on the next – I did a scribble effect on one and venetian blinds on the other at the beginning when they originally appear. After that some flowers pop up in the grass. I just want the grass and sky to stay on the screen the whole time while the flowers are popping up but it gets to the end of the bar and they disappear. If I time stretch it, it would make the scribble and venetian blind effects take too long i think.

I originally had the comp set for 10 seconds and after adding effects and keyframes needed it to be longer , so I changed it to 20 seconds but it won’t let me drag each layer out any longer than 10 seconds. I would think this is something that is done all the time.
