  • Finding a layer by name when you have a lot of layers

I have a bunch of words moving into a shape – some go horizontal and some go vertical. There are so many layers which I named all in Illustrator, but I can’t figure out how to search for a layer by name.
I type the word which is the name of the layer in the timeline’s searchbox, and it isn’t finding it.
Is there something I’m not understanding – seems like it should be a no-brainer.

Try typing the name of a layer you can actually see to make sure your search feature is working.
