January 25, 2013 at 4:03 am in reply to: V12 – SLR – render sync issues + no 720 AVC settingThanks Mark,
I upgraded from 10 and found the old render screen more intuitive.. Maybe I was just used to it.
Threw me a bit about the lack of 720, so thanks for confirming that on your version.

October 23, 2012 at 11:27 am in reply to: lack of ram render problem – workflow suggestions? + strange render screen?A tall order indeed!
I missed this obvious mistake, because I was focused on the fact that it was a still frame, thinkin ‘this should be easy’..
Thanks again for pointing it out.. Smooth sailing now.

Thanks very much guys, I’ll try those programs today.
And Steve, you’re 100% right in that you were clear.
My mistake all the way, but thanks for the consistent help!

I eventually managed to get it done by saving the project file and rendering from a friend’s machine, but your suggestion would have probably helped a lot.
The photos were about 5600 x 3700, so I guess I could have cut more than half away and still had room to pan / zoom without pixel problems.
I’m working on another vid for my friend next week on the same machine, so I’ll def. try and resize the folder.
Thanks!

October 20, 2012 at 10:56 pm in reply to: workflow question: Canon XF300>FCPX>Vegas 11Thanks Steve..
Any experience with how the format plays with Vegas in terms of speed / efficiency?
Is there a Windows (or Vegas) alternative / similar codec that edits more smoothly in Vegas than the pro res?
(not asking this second question in regards to this camera.. Just for general knowledge.

October 20, 2012 at 12:03 am in reply to: workflow question: Canon XF300>FCPX>Vegas 11Thanks very much Dave,
It’s greatly appreciated.
I had a clue, but when ‘get info’ clicking on the files it didn’t show the codec (at least not easily to my eyes).
It’s nice to have your confirmation..

October 8, 2012 at 6:37 pm in reply to: pan / crop tool ‘sync to play head’ missing? (+ slide show tips?)Gentlemen,
I’m extremely ashamed to admit my noobish mistake.
It was there the whole time!
Didn’t have my coffee this morning, and missed the button that was right in front of me.
I think on my other system it was pressed by default or something..
Forgive my use of the board for such foolishness and thanks for the quick responses 😉

thanks for the response!
I’m not exactly sure how to describe what I’m going for.
Imagine a simple text block (mo text or whatever), a mat white.
The background would also be white, but there would be either black trim of a few pixels around every edge (to show the shapes) or even the sides of the text would be black. My main goal is to have legible, block text, with very little black (easier on ink)and no gradient / color shading.
Sort of like the Metallica logo, but without the black background:
