You could export an EDL from FCE, import it into FCP6 then recapture/ reconnect the material using the offline media in the browser? Bit of a pain, but will save a bit of money…

My next point then, how do you get H264 encoded movs to play in flash player? I tried renaming to flv and that alone didnt seem to get it to work…

I recently had this issue when editing a conference video- listen to the whole thing without skipping any, VERY carefully, you may notice a barely perceptible pop, which can happen either on capture or if the audio went through any kind of mixer/ external audio device. There may not even be a pop, but what can happen is that there can be an odd kind of break/ repeat type thing which may only last for half a second, meaning everything after that slips out of sync. Try and work out exactly where it first slips, and see if that’s he issue.
It may well not be, a number of things can cause this. Good luck!

Cheers Dave, yeah this one happened a year or so back and I’ve learnt since! Saving up for a nanoflash as we speak… Although this new atomos ninja looks tantalising. (not worried about timecode you see, idont usually need it cos of my workflow 🙂

Thanks Jeremy, I have used this option for previous clients, but the situation is different here, so youtube is not an option unfortunately. I guess my biggest concern is that I want it to be a smooth transition for any reviewers, who don’t want to be downloading additional software to make things work. Also options like VLC aren’t internet browser plugins, Im interested mainly in their ability to stream it from a site on a PC without having to do anything extra. Do you think H264 will be problematical here?

Robbie, thanks for this post, should hopefully help a few people because there still seems to be a lot of confusion.
Anthony, thanks for the tip but I’m not entirely sure what he cineform codec has to do with this post… it’s a good codec but not really what I was asking about, or have I missed something?Also, has anyone therefore found a way to prevent subsampling on any of the canon range? Im aware of the Magic Lantern firmware hacks, but they give you data rate control rather than anything else. Even the 5D MK2 is 4:2:0, which is a shame because I was going to get one with the intention of chroma keying work. I currently have a t2i (550d) which I love, but still not great for keying for this reason. (Yes I know about good lighting bla bla bla) 😀
Also people have mentioned someone called Syndicate? Where can I find them? I Googled it and found nothing…

I thought Canon’s H264 profile was 420 (as suggested here: https://www.cinema5d.com/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=22347&start=0&st=0&sk=t&sd=a) although that is only a forum so it may well be inaccurate. If it IS 422, is that the same as the 7D/ 550D(T2i) ?
