Could it be that the tape was forward and reversed rewinded during the shooting, which caused it to have unused pieces on the tape? That will give you lost frames during capturing, which will have no effect on your editing.

What you see is completely normal, since there is a kind of mis-communication between Vegas and its plugins (in this case Boris FX). The solution is rather simpel: render your scene to a new DV-avi file. Open Boris from within Vegas and use this new (copy) file on the video track in Boris. Add your effects, close Boris FX and the effect will be seen in your timeline.

In your project properties, you set as deinterlace method NONE. Wouldn’t it help to put it on INTERPOLATE FIELDS (in case of a high-motion video)?

You can easily achieve this with Boris FX, a plugin for Vegas.

Do you observe this only in the preview window? Or also in the rendered endproduct like a DVD?

Ofcourse when you would like to have the effects on ALL the clips, that’s the easiest way. But it is not very clear wheter this is what Larry wanted to do.

OK, if you really want, there are always ways to avoid COPY/PASTE the PAN/CROP settings to the target clips. First make a copy of your project. Next go in your original project to the clip that you want to use as the source for PASTE ATTRIBUTES and and set PAN/CROP to normal by context clickig in the PAN/CROP window and selecting RESTORE. Perform your PASTE/ATTRIBUTE to all the receiving clips. When that is done, open Vegas for a second time with the back-up project open and COPY-PASTE ATTRIBUTES the PAN/CROP settings back to the donor clip in the original project.

You could have moved this window beneath the tray at the bottom of your screen that shows all your active programs.
Context click on this tray and select PROPERTIES. Now you can choose to hide this tray. Probably, you will find back your PAN/CROP Window at this place.Theo

You say that your video is transferred to the PC as an AVI file. But do you know what kind of avi file? If not, you can check this with a program called GSPOT.
