  • Rendering error; looks like an interlace problem.

So, I’ve been using the following settings and then I use Event Pan/Crop and Match Output Aspect to emulate the cinemascope ratio.

It works great in editing, in terms of preview video. But then I render it (as .mov or .avi) and get this ugly ole’ error:

Since field order has been set to progressive, I don’t understand what’s going wrong. And again, it all looks fine during editing. It’s only when rendered does this interlace issue arise.

I haven’t rendered to MPEG and burned to DVD yet to see what happens then. I did render to tape and got the same problem, though. I hope there’s gonna be an easy solution to this…anyone know what I’ve obviously done wrong?

When you want to achieve proper de-interlacing results, a de-interlacing filter is a must….There are a some really
excellent ones out there, but they are as plugins for other hosts.
The best free one i could recommend you try is “smart deinterlace”

    Philp,

In your project properties, you set as deinterlace method NONE. Wouldn’t it help to put it on INTERPOLATE FIELDS (in case of a high-motion video)?

Try setting you project properties to ‘best’ and on the timeline set your clip properties to ‘reduce interlace flicker’, under right click menu ‘switches’ . Render out sixty seconds or so and see if this fixes the problem. Most likely it will.
