I,m not sure what you did with the Button Prop window, but if you go to VIEW-WINDOW LAYOUTS and choose the default, you should be fine.

Did you check the framerate of your Japanes file with GSpot? Because Japan is using NTSC-J with a framerate of 29.97f/s

I was already afraid that this would be MP3 files. Not all MP3s are equal. Most NLEshave problems working with some types of MP3. Just analyze the problem MP3 and one of the good MP3 in GSpot and you will find differences.
If you just good convert the problem MP3 to a .WAV file, it should be working.

In the BUTTON PROPERTIES window, this is the window where you connected your button to a movie, is also the possibility to set the starttime of the movie (or the frame to be used as still in the button.

Hi James,

If you would like to work with faint text which becomes dark when highlighted, then it is possible.
Create your faint text button e.g. as a .PNG file with transparant background in a program like photoshop. Create a similar .PNG file with transparant background, but now with the same text with 100% opacity.
Import your media.
Select the button that appears in the viewer. Go to the BUTTON PROPERTIES window and select MEDIA. In the pulldown menu for THUMBNAIL MEDIA you select REPLACE and you browse to your faint text PNG file.
Now go to the HIGHLIGHT tab and select in the pulldown menu for STYLE the option CUSTOM. Next you go to the pulldown menu for MASK and you choose REPLACE. Browse to the .PNG with the solid text.
Finally you go to the tab COLORSET and open the Colorset 1 (via the + sign). Click on 1. FILL COLOR and in the pulldownmenu you can choose a color and set the opacity to 100%.
Your solid text PNG file will serve as a mask with this color and opacity.

Download the script you would like to use (there are many free scripts on the internet, including the matchaspect script: 148_matchaspect.js.zip

Upzip the script (if nessecary) and copy it into C:/program files/Sony/Vegas x.0/Script Menu.
Open your Vegas project.
Select all the events you would like to match aspect ratio (or whatever kind of script you would like to perform).
Go to TOOLS-SCRIPTING and click on the desired script. That should do the trick on all the selected events.
In case you added the script while Vegas was already open, you will first have to go to TOOLS-SCRIPTING-RESCAN SCRIPT MENU FOLDER to make the new script available.
To place the icon for a certain script available on the toolbar (very handy if you use it often), go to OPTION-CUSTOMIZE TOOLBAR (or just doubleclick on the toolbar).
The window that opens is selfexplaning.
Once you have experienced the big advances and timesavings of scripts, you might start looking for things like Excalibur, Ultimate S or Vegas Production Assistant.
