    What about 2007?

    Vacation?

    Try this:

Pull out the House reference from both decks.
Do not use any ext. ref. into the VHS deck.

Send the VHS composite OUT, first, into the DV deck’s REF. IN, and then loop it out of there and back into the DV decks’ Video IN.

The DV deck should then “lock” to the VHS output.
Of course, it will be VERY unstable.

A BETTER way is to send the VHS through a digital “Frame Sync” and send the frame sync’s output into the DV deck.

I use different brands interchangably all the time in my Sony GV-D1000.

    Sony, Panny, Fuji, Maxell.

I never clean the heads… never need to.

Having a TC jack is not an indication of an RS-422 interface.

Could be the full drive, but…

Try a re-start of the Mac.

    Having fewer open apps,

and try “trashing the Preferences” of FCP.

Like I said, you are on the WRONG FORUM to get a fast answer this question.

$600 won’t buy the cables needed to connect much of the gear broadcasters use.

You might try the “Event Videographers” Forum here on the COW.

If $600 is “way out of your range”, you’re on the WRONG FORUM!

  • -20?

    You send tone at -20?

    Wow, that’s low.

  • Click the cursor on the audio edit so that it is highlighted.

Type in the number of frames you want the edit to move (like -4) and hit RETURN or ENTER.

If this doesn’t work, you might need to UNLINK the Audio from the Video clips.

    Nope.

You can’t connect more than one Video device (Hard Drives don’t count) to the FW port(s) of a Mac.
It loses the ability to operate or “see” the video devices.
