[john Kopec] “I’m going to be getting my feet wet with some solo ballroom dance videography, “
[john Kopec] “Then, creating a network wirelessly or with ethernet (ethernet preferably I’m assuming), begin the post-production work and burning of the DVD’s so we can at least get some dance performances back to the people that day.”
Statement 1 indicates a less favorable outcome of statement 2.
If you are new to this kind of shooting and distribution of product, I’d make it as simple and straight-forward a project (with several-day delivery-time promise) as I could.
The difficulties of dealing with just the (possible) dozens of orders and special requests for DVD’s
will likely take up a considerable amount of man-power (a couple of people, usually) on the day of the event(s).
Fulfilling those orders and double-checking “who gets what” will be easier if you tell clients that delivery will be a few days (or longer) later.
“Day-of events” with so many participants (and relatives) can be brutal!
