Letter Box effect help
Im making a music video and I want to do the hype williams effect where he has the main image letterboxed in the middle of the frame and has another image which is kinda stretched playing from above and below at the same time.

Does anyone know how to do this on final cut???

Use the “Distort” tool/settings in the Motion Tab on video clips in video layers above the main clip.

I don’t think any distortion is going on. For example, around 53 seconds in w/the guy flexing both the foreground and background images look the same. I think all they did for the background footage is take two copies of the same clip, crop each clip down the middle and push the clip of the top half of the frame to the top and the clip w/the bottom half of the frame to the bottom.
