    Hi all,
A client’s complaining that a video I did for them looks heavily pixellated on their projector. And indeed it does. Looks awful in fact. There’s nothing wrong with the video – or the DVD – it was shot and chopped in 1080HD, compressed to DVD through compressor, and on any ordinary player/screen looks fantastic.

They’re playing it from the DVD drive of a cheap Dell desktop through Roxio. Is there anything I can do, like recompress using a particular codec that will optimise the video for a projector – or do they just have to accept that it’s their lousy system?

    Thanks in advance!

What do other DVD’s look like on that system?

I always tell my clients, “If you want the best (and most reliable) result, don’t use a computer to play your DVD. In this case, it sounds like either the computer or the projector is set up incorrectly, i.e. screen resolution, etc.

Play from a DVD player. Connect the DVD player directly to the projector via RGB/Component for best quality. If you do not have a RGB/Component cable, S-Video then Composite are your other options.
