Most likely you have designated a loop region of the timeline and left the “render loop region only” box checked on the render page. Undo either one of those and you should be good.

This is called a “color pass” and Edward Troxel has good instructions on how to do it with Vegas in his newsletters posted on his web site.

Your beginning vertical scrolls are also slightly jerky, just not as noticeable as the horizontal scrolls. I have repeadedly had problems with the vertical scroller but have been able to get smooth horizontal scrolls. What are the specs on the computer and hard drive that you are using?

I recently did some serious scrolling of photos across the screen and they were not smooth, no matter what I did and what I had my preview set at. However when I rendered it out and played it on a DVD player it was smooth as silk? Who knows?

Rob, there are many posts that state that you can burn an HD DVD with a standard burner onto standard DVDs. (but you are limited to 20 minutes) You only need a bluRay player to watch them, not a burner. I have not personally tried it yet but I’m getting close. If I get a chance I will try to link back to some of those posts.

Found one: Read this entire thread:

You could try the “Studio” version of Vegas. Stripped down version much like Elements and Photoshop. You can download a trial version for free and see if you like it. It is SO MUCH better than windows movie maker.

You probably do not have the correct codec loaded on your machine. Download the program “G-spot”. Then drop the mp4 file in the program. It will tell you whether yopu have the correct codec and what it should be. If you don’t have it you will need to go ona search and find it.
