Hi clever folks who know heaps about using Sony Vegas 🙂

I am trying to import videos to sony vegas 8.0. I have recorded them on my phone (Nokia N95) and they are mp4 files. When I try to import and open the files I get the error message:
“Warning: and error occurred while opening one or more files. The file format specified format was not properly initiazed”

Can you help (in lamens terms for complete novices 🙂 )

    Thanks

Can you play them with Windows media player? Can Windows movie maker see them? If so convert them to NTSC DV with that, then import to Vegas. Hope this helps, Danny Hays

You probably do not have the correct codec loaded on your machine. Download the program “G-spot”. Then drop the mp4 file in the program. It will tell you whether yopu have the correct codec and what it should be. If you don’t have it you will need to go ona search and find it.
