By ‘the storyboard’ I assume you mean the timeline.
Add your arrow to a track above the video (I assume you have an arrow with a transparent background)and place it as needed.
Shrink the arrow event to two seconds by grabbing the end of the event and dragging to the left.
You can then copy and paste the arrow event to your other clips and will just have to adjust the arrow position. -
open a text event above your video. Have the curser at the laft side (beginning) of the event. Place your first letter. Click 15 frames to the right in the keyframe time line . Click in the text window. Add second letter. Click again another 15 frames to the right in keyframe timeline. Click again in the text window. type third letter. This will result in your letters appearing every 1/2 second. Each time you type the letter in the text box it will add a keyframe in the time line.

DV AVI, whic you did not use, but is arguably a standard to measure agaiinst is about 215mb per minute so your 60 mb/4 min is quite compressed (about 15mb per minute)You lower filew size by reducing size and or reducing bit rate. Reducing bit rate will reduce quality while reducing size will…well…!Your going to hvae to try different codecs and sizes and see what you can live with. You will HAVE TO go with MPEG2 for DVD. You might try H264Main Concept AVC and see how you like that for web useor you could try Flash. But ypou’ll have to use something besides Vegas to render to Flash.

AHH thats a clue because I don.t think you get the Dolbys unless you hjave DVDA installed. Maybe the same for the other missing ones.

It provides a flag that tells the repplicator (not burner) to apply copy protection. -
Carl,
Thank you. Now appears to be working right. -
Click on the Fx icon in the track header. You will notice when the Fx box opens that there are by default three fx already applied but set to do nothing. Click on the Track Eq and it will open the controls for using it.

Cannot get AAV Colorlab to work.
It appeared to install ok. I choose media Fx and it is listed in the Fxs. I choose it and apply it to the event but the Fx control box stays blank. There is nothing in it. What have I done wrong? Here is some information that might be useful:

Alittle research showed me that the battery is oon an internal board and not readily user accessable. I saw a post from someone who said they send their unit to Amatos in NY and had the battery replaced and the inside cleaned and lubricated for about $200.00. If price is true, doesn’t sound too bad. Think I’ll look into it.

Edward,
As I read down this thread I was waiting for someone to mention the camera clock. When I saw your name I knew it would be there. But I have another question. I have a PD 150 (Thats the prior version of the PD170 for you youngsters out there) I found recently that I could not do scene capture and I knew the problem usually that it was because the camera clock was not set. I checked and sure enough it was not set, which seemed strange since I knew I had set it. So I set it. Next time I used the camera I had the same problem. Not only was the clock not set but it had defauilted to DVcam which I don’t use and a couple of other settings were changed. So I reset the settings and the clock and went about using the camera. But my battery went low so I switched out batteries and low and behold the settings had reverted back to no time set and the other settings had reverted also. It would appear that the internal (?) battery that holds the settings when you remove power from the camera had gone bad. (My guess). The owners manual states that there is a vanadium-lithium battery that serves this purpose but never mentions where it is or how (or if) it can be changed. It does say that it can go dead if youdon not use the camera for an extended period of time and that it needs to be recharged and gives instructions that to recharge it you should leave the camera connnected to house current with the AC adapter and the power switch turned off for 24 hours or more. I have done that and it still does the same thing.
Finally my question: Does anyone know where the suspect battery is and how to get to it?
Thanks for sticking with this long question and for any help.
