    Hi,

I won’t be doing this continuously, but I’m pleased to announce a name change and some major changes in the “Aav’s 6cc” plugin.

Like before, it does six-vector color correction (still missing out of the box in Vegas). It now exploits the raw power found in modern graphics cards, giving you much faster renders and previews than previous versions.

ColorLab is intended to be a more complete “toolbox” of effects, all using the GPU. In this version, the following are included:

    – 6-vector c.c.
    – Levels
    – Brightness & Contrast
    – Black & White

    Bonus AAV TransLab transitions:
    – Fade
    – Additive and Subtractive dissolves

It’s still free, but appeals to your conscience by being “donationware”. 🙂

    Carl,
When I try to apply the CC I get no control window and the preview window turns solid red. Pr8b. What might I be doing wrong?

8.0b is what I’m using too.

Did you get any errors when installing it? Remember to uninstall Aav6cc beta 1 or 2 if you tried that earlier.

Otherwise, could you look up the following in either Explorer or Internet Explorer?
    file://%APPDATA%/AAV ColorLab/log.txt

If that doesn’t give you anything, try %APPDATA%\AAV ColorLab\log.txt

Post the text back here please.

There may be a problem with the installer. I’ve switched to a different installer for beta 4, and this should ensure the dependencies are satisfied.

Another possibility is that you don’t have a “DirectX 9” graphics card (with shader model 2.0 support). There is currently limited error checking in the plugin, and I’m trying to fix this for beta 4 also.

I’ll post again when I’ve released it. Thanks for trying ColorLab, all feedback is appreciated.

If you’d like to try installing the dependencies manually, please grab these:
    – DirectX 9.0c (https://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=2da43d38-db71-4c1b-bc6a-9b6652cd92a3&displaylang=en)
    – .NET Framework 2.0 (https://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=0856eacb-4362-4b0d-8edd-aab15c5e04f5&displaylang=en)

Installer stops just before the end saying, “cannot find Netframe” even though it is already installed.

    Hi, Carl
If I install beta3 will my old veg files fail to work because of the missing aav6cc plug-in?

    Thanks

    Harold

Cannot get AAV Colorlab to work.
It appeared to install ok. I choose media Fx and it is listed in the Fxs. I choose it and apply it to the event but the Fx control box stays blank. There is nothing in it. What have I done wrong?

Here is some information that might be useful:
