Copy the audio track and use the Track EQ to cut off the bass on one copy and the treble on the other.

Click on the Fx icon in the track header. You will notice when the Fx box opens that there are by default three fx already applied but set to do nothing. Click on the Track Eq and it will open the controls for using it.

Then you have manually changed your default track properties in Vegas because they usually come up with 3 standard FX. No worries, just click on Sony in the Plug-in Chooser window and then click on Track EQ and press the Add button and then OK button.

It looks like you have a corrupt installation. You are missing all of the Sony plug-ins. I would completely uninstall and re-install. If they still don’t show up, I would contact Sony technical support.

Ok I got everything fixed now, but how exactly do I use the Track EQ too cut the treble and bass, I’m pretty confused.

Remember you need to make a copy of the track. On the treble copy, pull (1) all the way down to the bottom. (1) is already set as a Low Shelf so it will cut the bass.

On the bass copy, change (1) to High Shelf and again pull it all the way down to the bottom. This will cut all of the highs (treble) and leave you with just the bass.

In both cases adjust the Frequency to the point at which you want to start cutting treble or bass.
