We are opening our doors on Dec 1st and we have edit stations and mixing rooms available for rent. We’re located on Magnolia in Burbank. We’ll beat anyone’s written rate.
1) Offline edit stations for rent
2) Non-linear editing (Online) in SD, HD, and 4:4:4
3) Color Correction on Avid Symphony or with Color
4) Full Television and Theatrical Mix, including Dolby 5.1
and 7.15) ADR Recording, dubbing, and looping
6) Tape duplication of D5, HDCAMSR, HDCAM, and Digital
Betacam.7) File and Data compression, storage, and digital delivery
8) Visual FX via Motion/Shake/AE

Follow the install directions carefully. If you are upgrading from a 2.X version, there is stuff you have to uninstall manually before you start the new install. Also some registry editing.

Avid support has changed tremendously over the last few years. Actually, the whole company has and continues to. It is why I hold out hope for the company, even though my logical side says it’s too late for them.

Have to agree with Grinner here, use drives.
However, if you insist on tape, you need to give a tape name to all of your imports, that will trick Avid into thinking they are tape sources and include them in the archive.

Relinking issues with P2 in Avid.

Similar, but easier.
Create the sequence in an HD project to start. Then change the project type back to SD. Now capture or import your SD material.
When you are ready to go HD with your project, you just change it to 1080 under the project format tab.
That’s it.
And if you need to capture more SD material, just change the project back to SD.
You will need to add a reformat effect to pillar box the SD material as Avid will stretch it horizontally to fill the frame.

The only way this can happen is if the settings files aren’t being seen where they are expected. this could be due to them being moved or corrupted.
When you first start up, you can steer the system to a folder for user settings. If that got changed, you won’t see them. Try redirecting during startup back to you user settings folder.

Agreed. I never use the console for TRTs, so I cannot attest to their accuracy. I can tell you that the timeline TCs are dead nuts accurate. Just use those.
