Duration?
Hello,
I am having trouble with a very important issue regarding duration of my sequence.
I am working in a 23.97NTSC project, cutting to a 29.97NTCS clock for a TV Network client. In my time code window I have:
“Mas 30DF” reading:_SEQ30DF = 01;11;41;13
and
“Mas 24” reading:SEQ24 = 01:11:40:18
BUT!
in my bin the duration of my sequence reads: 01:14:35:22
another weird thing is: Some of my sequences are showing a “;” for drop frame and others are showing a “:” for NDF.
I made an in and out in my sequence and checked my IN/OUT time in my time code window to make sure that the duration in my TC window is correct.
So the ultimate question here is… why is my duration in my bin off, WAY OFF (like 3minutes!)?

Well Avid counts EVERYTHING…black, bars and tone, black…the program start. So if your timeline starts at 58:00:00, it will count that time…as it should….in the total duration.

Sorry, no idea. Just ignore that. The timing that the TC readers are telling you are what you should heed.

Agreed. I never use the console for TRTs, so I cannot attest to their accuracy. I can tell you that the timeline TCs are dead nuts accurate. Just use those.

Maybe it’s some sort of glitch when cutting in a 24p world to a 30df clock.
