I think when you convert with Andrew’s method you are also deinterlacing at the same time. Just export out of After Effects with no fields (progressive) and you should be complete.

Thanks for your response. That is a really deceiving option. I would have never guessed that was for deinterlacing.

Are you running the Prodeuction Studio? I don’t think it supports that processor. Those do not have the SSE2-enabled. Make sure of the Adobe System Requirements.

I am glad to hear that shooting progressive helped. Next time if you need to convert interlaced to progressive you can use DVFilm Maker to convert it. It is a cool program and it is only 99.00.

Remove grain filter is the best way to go even though it takes FOREVER. A littl tip – What I do – do a little test on a small peice of footage and make sure that remove grain is set the way you want it. Then re-apply it to the entire clip and then just export it. I skip the whole render process.

Are you using progressive footage? If not, it might help if you convert the interlaced video to progressive. Also you can use a matte choker.

Make a duplicate of your clip and add it to the track above it. Ad the crop filter and size it to the area you want to cover up. Then add a mosaic effect to that clip.

It does not work the other way. My suggestion is not to do effects until your final edit. Effects take a lot of work and probably should not be worked on until your cut is finished. Just my workflow that is.

I have a feeling that the next version of Premiere will have Multiple Project panels that can be opened seperatly for better media management. The reason I say this is because awhile back I saw a list of new features (on the internet) for the next version and that list also included TIME REMAPPING and as we all know that is included in the next version.

I had the same kind of issue. If you try and cut and paste it will give you the whole video instead of the clip. Which is frustrating.
