bummer. that link doesn’t work here. i’ve had the same problem for a couple years and finally today will do something about it. glad to hear it might be just a download/update issue. thanks for this thread!

    😉

  • thanks, but the only problem here is reading them on a PC with XP. . . and having said that, i haven’t tried it on a PC with any newer OS (don’t have any in the house). i doubt it’s bit rate…same as before, and hard to tell if these are -R or +R, but i’ve only been buying -R in bulk from SuperMediaStore (JVC Taiyo Yuden 8X DVD-R). i’m really stumped.

  • XP is the only Windows OS i’ve ever had in this place. i’m a Mac guy but keep the XP machine around for a few things: Quicken and DVD dubs on my Primera dubber…

my client also only uses XP. he can’t play the new ones, but he can play the old ones. i’m totally stumped, since i’m making the DVDs the same way i always have. i suppose it COULD BE the brand/stock of blank DVD media. could that really be the case in that they play everywhere else (Mac, DVD player, BluRay player) and just not on a PC?

i don’t know what else to try.

ya, interesting test here. i used to be able to adjust an audio level on audio track 1 or 2 of a clip, then select that clip in the timeline (which selected the video and both audio channels, copy, then select another clip or group of clips, paste attributes, and it worked. now it doesn’t.

what DOES work is to select ONLY the audio track with the desired level, then select ONLY the target audio track in a clip or group of clips and then paste.

maybe this was part of one of the recent upgrades? i dunno. oh well. thanks!

    Hi Daniel,

Thanks for the reply. I’m guessing you meant, “heartily” instead of “hardly?” That’s what it sounded like from the rest of your post. Ya, that seems the best option right now, to just stick with DVD-SP…i just wish it could read the chapter markers put in on the Premiere timeline.
