  • relinking errors on dynamically-linked AE sequences

Posted by Tad Newberry on August 21, 2015 at 11:24 pm

so i reloaded the clips for a project back on to my drive. reloaded the project and MOST of the dynamically-linked AE sequences automatically linked and showed up fine. a few did not, and i get this error window: “the importer reported a generic error.” About the only thing i can do is re-enter the info on the those graphics (they’re mostly all just lower thirds, so not to extensive), but just wondering for future reference how much of a problem this will be when reloading an entire project.

thanks for helping out a bonehead!

(then it’s on to PetaBytes, ExaBytes and MosquitoBytes!)

    Hi Tad…

    I Can’t answer that from experience…

you might consider render and replace of dynamic link comps in an “archive master” version of your sequence as a final step just prior to archive.

that way the back up will at least have media versions of the files to restore…

    ‘splain “render and replace”, Lucy.

Thanks, Alex, this sounds like a very good idea that i should be doing.
