I have the same problem. Good color in FCP gives too bright footage in ProRes and DVD Studio Pro.
This makes it impossible to rely on grading in FCP.Sverker Hahn, Stockholm

Sorry, I have got my footage mixed up.
Now it seems there is not such a big difference as above.
Instead of 50 Mbps I get 46.
I think that my post was not a good one …
Thanks anyway, David!

I do not understand some of the above, eg what the key frame interval means – at least I have not seen any difference in footage quality between 5 and 25.

Conversion to H264 takes a lot of time. From HD, I expect it to take 25x-30x real time.
You should expect something like that, even with SD and a MacBook Pro.
The first quick bar increase represents audio.
Check the conversion speed with a 10s- or a 1-minute sequence.
If you do this a lot, check out a https://www.matrox.com/video/en/products/mac/compresshd/.Sverker Hahn, Stockholm

This is an often discussed topic. Go for the forum search option.
There are almost as many solutions as people. Myself I store BPAV folders on a hard disk drive and a DVD of highest quality (Verbatim). Blu-ray is also increasingly popular for long time storage.Sverker Hahn, Stockholm

Not a good idea.
Those who want other lenses should buy an EX3.
To get more wide angle options without a 35 mm adapter, you can buy a wide angle adapter from Sony or Schneider.Sverker Hahn, Stockholm

Obviously you do not have FCP yet.
You need FCP 6.0.3 or later to import.
Then it will be easy.Sverker Hahn, Stockholm

Hypermac.com has a 12 V charger for MacBook Pro, and external batteries. Thinking of buying one of each. As for the camera battery, I use an inverter.
