    Hi guys

I’m trying to convert a SD PAL 30 min. movie to H264 quick time.
When I’m sending the conversion from Compressor it opens the Batch Monitor that shows me the progress.

The problem I’m getting is that the time of conversion is just going up (from 1 min. to several hours…) and the progress bar reach the 1/5 of the bar and stays there.

I tried running Compressor Repair and it didn’t solve the problem.
I tried to export a self contained clip instead of reference clip, and placing it in other hard drive – and it also didn’t solve the problem.

I’m using Final Cut Studio 3 on MacBook Pro (uni-body)

    Any help would be appreciated

    Thanks
    Roi

Conversion to H264 takes a lot of time. From HD, I expect it to take 25x-30x real time.
You should expect something like that, even with SD and a MacBook Pro.
The first quick bar increase represents audio.
Check the conversion speed with a 10s- or a 1-minute sequence.
If you do this a lot, check out a https://www.matrox.com/video/en/products/mac/compresshd/.
