The codecs should be included in the XDCAM Transfer software – it’s a free download from your local Sony website. Current version is 2.8 I think…

Well we were brave and updated, everything looks good so far! I’ve run off a master (XDCAM HD timeline with an LH downconvert to Digibeta) and no problems so far. I’ll update the rest of the machines later today I think.
It solved the boot issue for us – but I used the NDD version of the driver as we don’t need the desktop display.

I think this might be one of these cases where you just see what he sends you… If you do get a HD clip in m2v format on a data DVD then you should be able to use MPEG Streamclip to convert it.

Sorry if I’m being dense here – but what are you trying to do exactly? You have a HD clip that you want to put into FCP? Why do you need a DVD?

Yeah we have in FCP – the Kona to DVCPRO 1080i setting seems to give us a nice playback image.

The same transfer company you use to create your BetaSP tape should be able to also turn your DV tape into an NTSC BetaSP. Try giving them a ring.

We have an xsan with 8 seats and I really recommend getting a professional to do the setup… Maintenance is a piece of cake, but there are so many little details that need to be set just right. It took a full day for our guy to do it and test it and he installs these things all the time.
