setting up xsan with fcp
Ok….I need help setting up FCP6 with an XSAN. Here is what I have: 8 Core Xseve, two promise raids, qlogic fiber switch, dell gbit switch. Is there a step by step written regarding the set up of os x server and x san??? Or can anyone recomend a good traing facility? I will be using this with a two FCP editors.

We have an xsan with 8 seats and I really recommend getting a professional to do the setup… Maintenance is a piece of cake, but there are so many little details that need to be set just right. It took a full day for our guy to do it and test it and he installs these things all the time.

Unfortunately, i work in Memphis, do they have training classes or do onsite installs??

Here’s another vote for NOT trying to do this yourself.
There’s far too much specific, arcane knowledge required to do this. Unless you know ALOT about
basic IT infrastructure, setting up switches and DNS… you will crash and burn.I’ve been running a fairly large X-SAN installation for over three years now, and when it’s time to upgrade or add new equipment, I’m not shy about calling in the experts. Unlike many other Apple products, X-SAN is definitely NOT plug and play.
