I’ve never had a problem when sending a master to a duplicator. It also has DLT, DDP, & CMF capability if you are into that kinda thing.

You would have to do a “print to tape” for the audio to be there…or use adaptors to connect your soundcard on the computer to the VTR.

If I were to guess…I would say it is something to do with the sound card. However, I can’t say for certain as I have never heard of this only happening in Vegas and not anywhere else.

Because Vegas is an interface extension of Windows…it should play anything normally that also plays in Windows Media Player.

Sorry can’t help more. Anybody else experience or heard of this?

what are the properties of the mp3 files? does it happen to all mp3s?

what brand and model of sound device do you have?

do the mp3s play in windows media player or itunes or whatever you use?

If it is on tape … not unless you want to strongly degrade the audio quality or spend lots of money fixing it.

If you want to plan ahead…it depends on the environment you are in and how you are recording.

    Details?

I’m guessing not. They are focusing on the next major release of ACID which is taking more of an audio multi-track from the look of things.

You can also create a new project and render the audio out to a new file with the one on the left and the other on the right.

That sounds contradictory to me. If you want to pick up the wedding party, you will pick up the room sounds too.

Even though the possibility of room noise, go with the omni. Check out the Sennheiser line. I think they are the best bang for the buck right now.

As an AUDIO guy in general, I’ve mixed, edited and mastered some major label projects. In Vegas, I almost always use Wave Hammer on my master audio buss. I’ve come to like it more than L1 Maximizer from Waves. There are some great outboard gear pieces, too. However, the most valuable tool when it comes to audio mastering is your ear. Be careful when viewing waveforms on your video monitor, even though they look like they are at a lower level they may not be based on frequency, instrumentation, pitch, etc. Make sure you are sampling different sections of audio portion of your project.

  • Nice effect. I’m sure that some of us Veggie-heads would love the Veg file and PNGs.
