I see what you mean but there should be no need to create a new background for this as Im planning to film the studioplate clean without the actor in the frame.
The only thing Im planning to do is shooting an actor in front of a studio backdrop but extending the white backdrop since its not wide enough. When I then is going to mask out the unwanted parts (the both sides of the frame) with the clean backdrop on the layer behind – there will be some edge problems as almost nothing lines up 100% perfect.
Is there a way to smooth those edges (between the plates) or is the best way to use the clone stamp?
I guess I can not use the clone stamp to work on two layers, as paint only can apply on one layer at a time. Its not show yet, two days to go.

Hi,
The problem is still the feather transition between the original footage and the plate. What is the best way to hide the transition?
I have a clean plate of the backgroud. -
Hi Dan,
This still gives me interlaced lines when the objects are moving etc. Any idea how to get rid of this. On the monitor it looks good, but not on the computer screen.

Work like a charm, thanks!

Hi Dan,
It may be possible to grab still using this method, but not power grades og memories.
I guess I need to start a new project within the old database, import some random material, paste the color grades on the clips, make stills from the clips, export it and then import the project in the new databse.Stig

Can someone please explain what this means:
“Fool with the lower layer’s Keylight settings until it looks like the subject looks fine, but is over a grayish, washed-out chroma key background. It’ll take some doing, but you will have gotten it to the point where Keylight’s spill suppressor is working. That’s good, because the Keylight spill suppressor works darned well.”
I guess the layer that is keyed out is made as good as possible before it is duplicated and already looks as fine as I can get it…
Thats why I do not understand what exactly I need to do with the layer underneath. -

The effect im looking for is like the particles you can see in the commercials, but in a way it looks like they reflects and react to the light in the same way as using the specular-option. The problem is that the specular-option is not available without using textured polygon – and then the shape channges… Any solution anyone?

Same problem here!
What kind of method are you using to tranfer the material from Avid to Resolve? It seems like the EDL does not work eighter in my case…
Its a huge problem on the sequences where the scene detector doesnt do a good enough job.
