  • AAF MXF import doesn’t work

    Hi,

I’ve just played around with AAF import from Avid.
I’ve a single layer with a few cuts and dissolves, export it in Avid as AAF that links to the media.
In Davinci I add the media into the media pool, then I load the AAF in the conform tab and point
again to the folder with the media and press import. Every single cut has the ‘C’ problem and doesn’t
line up with the offline file at all.

The clips are HDCAM clips with proper Tape Names.

    Anyone seeing the same problem?
I don’t know what I can do wrong in this workflow?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    best

I’ll try to replicate this and see what happens. One question – what framerate was your timeline?

    Same problem here!
What kind of method are you using to tranfer the material from Avid to Resolve? It seems like the EDL does not work eighter in my case…
Its a huge problem on the sequences where the scene detector doesnt do a good enough job.

I’m doing nothing special, I select the avidMediaFiles folder where all the media from the sequence is and import it in to Resolve. The media is all there, but when I load the EDL in the Conform page, nothing works, it seems like it’s having trouble with the file names!?
Because the timecode seems to work, but Resolve takes almost always the wrong clip.

Hope anyone knows an answer to that, because it would be a great workflow to not have to make a videomixdown everytime and then edit the EDL to get a proper timeline.
