Why on earth is norton anti-virus is such a mess..it baffles me,
and yet its the first name that comes to peoples mind when the word anti-virus is mentioned.

    Cindy..
iam really at a lost as to what is the root of your problem. Reformatting your hardrive may cure all ailments..but i dont
like recommending this..it is such a time consuming process.

To my recollection that is how vegas functions when rendering mpg4 file formats. Did the final render had any errors?
I would also recommend you upgrade to version 8.0b

No it wont mess anything up..it basically just carries out maintenance
to correct errors and maybe missing components.Thats all…

Personally the best blu-ray burner i would highly recommend is the
Pioneer BDR-202 burner which carries 4x burning speed.
As for disc burning speed…high speed burning is what i never
recommend. Burning at high speeds runs the risk of disc
    errors…the slower…the better.

Thats a very good suggestion Allen.
Cindy, if you are using a anti-virus (lets know which)…Hence, disable
your internet connection for a while, while you disable your antivirus and firewall, then launch vegas.
Indeed AVG is good and i also would recommend Mcafee which i have used
for years to date with no complications.

Boy…You have one major problem…but dont give up on vegas just yet.
First, Iam certain its something simple on your system thats
causing conflict with the vegas architecture and its audio engine.

Hence, just patiently tell me all the major applications you have installed on your system. Then most importantly clean up your registry,
and your system.Use this free cleaner..https://www.ccleaner.com/ to clean up your system in the meantime.
