The mute button is the ‘little circle with a slant inside’ on the left
of each video track where all the little buttons gather.
And the solo button is an exclamation sign right beside it…
press to enable:press again to disable….when either is enabled it has a shaded sunken look.

Indeed i understand your point Rick in achieving the same output using vegas color correction etc.(one tool cant do all)
But i must disagree, magic bullet is not a distraction. It does
far more than just slapping on colors and tones…it possesses tools,
tones, gamma, diffusion, spot focus, depth-of-field etc that’s greatly integrates with the footage its prossessing in isolating, masking etc. certain aspects of the image in one sitting if you wish.
It at some point requires less work especially in masking and other areas with beautiful results, although the rendering time has always been an issue, but the render wait is worth it when you have the time
    on projects to spare.
I use it in collaboration with vegas color correction (color wheels). Having it as an color grading application to an editing workflow is a solid investment.

Well Cindy..for basic registry cleaning, you can try the cleaner
i recommended earlier in this post (ccleaner).
Install it, then open..then at left you see a button name registry, press it, and then back on the bottom right you see ‘scan for issues’
press that…and when its completed you then press ‘fix selected issues'(all issues must be ticked)…then click ‘fix all selected issues’ then when its done click ‘ok’, thats it.

I highly recommend this software and method because it is simple and effective without the risks of damaging your registry and removing components that’s important to windows, which sometimes happen using
    too powerful registry cleaning software.

    Thanks Kim,
But i hope that everyone here by now has bought their copies long ago…if not…you have no passion for this field (LOL).
Grabbed a few one hour after it was released. I along with
numerous vegas users raised hell for months for its vegas
compatible release, and it was certainly worth it.

Seriously, Looks is an editing investment in more ways than one.

  • Well Oliver,
Still you now know a new feature.
Now it seems then your pan crop window has gone below the taskbar at
bottom, if i read you correct? if that is the prob, then right click your taskbar and select properties..then when the properties opens up
tick ‘auto hide taskbar’,apply and ok.
Now your taskbar should sink out of view when the mouse is not over it
and hopefully you can now drag back your pan crop in view that is hidden at bottom.
    Hope that helped…

  • You can try to reset vegas to its default setting as when you just installed it by holding down the the ctrl and shift keys while launching vegas.

    Thanks for the insight Allen,
I agree, years ago it was really good and reliable then started gradually turning into a bloated mess…i didnt know all the details
about being sold to Symantec etc. just knew i got to really hate it.
I am really puzzled as to why they had to turn this former gem
    into a bloated monster.

I however then gave Mcafee a spin and never looked back…it doesn’t
conflict with anything…nor slows down system resources or anything like that, just beautiful integration all around. I also used AVG and also can vouch for it.

I am somewhat positive that its responsible for Cindy’s problem..
and probably occurred immediately after it was automatically updated
    online in the background.
