You can do all that you described using both sony cinescore and
acid pro…..along with endless themes, loops and instruments
you can purchase and compose to your personal musical productions.

With SoundForge, Acid and Cinescore (which all integrates beautifully
with Vegas)….you need nothing more.

You mean Vegas 8.0b….from what you have described….no amount of tweaking or fix is gonna make vegas and these files any friendlier.
Version 8.0c will be coming out soon with new fixes, including one
to make such file formats as these and others more compatible in
vegas.
In the meantime, nothing is wrong to use nero vision to convert these files into a format that vegas is happy with.

Well then, i am almost certain that they are high resolution images
which normally behaves as you describe.
If they are,use your image editor(not vegas pan/crop), to reduce the resolution(size)of each image,to the resolution of your video project.
I am sure the problem will cease then.

Right click on each picture on the timeline and go to ‘switches’ and then tick “reduce interlace flicker”.

It isn’t different, it means you have changed the default setting for it.Try resetting vegas, it should return things back to where it was.
METHOD: By pressing the ctrl and shift keys while vegas is launching.

But before you do this..try unchecking ‘use external video application’
under the video tab in preferences first…then press the camera
icon on the toolbar and see if it gives you the option.

Hey Ralph,
A Western Digital 2TB: 7200rpm: External firewire Drive sounds good to me. Did some looking into raid configurations recently and its not really something i would be too quick to recommend.

You are missing the point what John and i are trying to tell you…
On the vegas toolbar, there is a button to choose either DV or HD, if its not there, (go to ‘options’ and select ‘customize toolbar’, you will see the camera icon in the listings to your left,select it
and add it to the toolbar).
Now when you click this button, a prompt will come up asking if you want to capture DV OR HDV-SDI….Choose HDV-SDI and you follow from there along with pointers that we gave you. If its not recognizing the camera, follow what John pointed out.
