    Two questions:

    1. I have Vegas 7. I bought a buddy’s computer a year ago and he had Vegas 7 on it. He never used it….I use it almost every day! However, I am not the original owner of the software and he did not provide me the installation disk. I was thinking of getting Vegas 8 Pro and noticed that I can get an upgrade to it rather than simply purchasing the whole program. Since I was not the original owner of this software, can I purchase this upgrade without any problems. I am assuming that I can but having never been in this situation with any software program I just wanted to be sure.

    2. Is it worth upgrading to 8 Pro. I know the Pro Titler is supposed to blow anything that 7 has away. However, I have Bluff Titler and like it quite a bit. Is the Pro Titler better? Does this alone make it worth the upgrade? I don’t do multi-camera stuff (thought this is a possibility down the line but I think Vegas 9 would be out before then). So….is it worth the $140 to upgrade to 8?

Thanks….always enjoy the advice you guys provide!

You have to have your friend transfer the license to you if you want to purchase an upgrade. The transfer is free.

You can get a transfer as Harold says….
And with vegas 7 you still have a version of one of the most versatile and professional NLE that exists.
    So don’t sweat it.

The Pro Titler is so hard to use that I just don’t use it. Where Vegas 8 does seem to be useful is faster speed rendering, and it’s almost essential if you want to handle HDV. For SD Vegas 7 will work just fine.

I’m sure other users will have their reasons to upgrade — or not.
