    Sorry Mary,
You wont get that perfect desired look by changing the frame rate
during rendering. You are referring to a term known as “stop motion”,
and the only way you can achieve that look is by using a filter.
A plugin that integrates with vegas and achieve this perfectly
is ‘pixelan CreativEase’ over at “pixelan.com” …..You can try the demo and many of its various presets, i am sure will find the perfect effect you are looking for.

If you say it was working fine 30 minutes ago, first try to do a system restore to yesterday or earlier today, and see if that helps first…
Or before you do that, you can try restarting your computer and do a
quick disc and registry cleanup to set things right.

Try creating a different folder,in the same default location, rename it
then direct DVDA3 to use that folder to place the prepared temporary
    files in…..and see what happens.
Have you since tried cleaning up and defragging your hard drive?

yes…it is worth investing in at least a 3ccd HD consumer
    camcorder for numerous reasons.
A million times better than buying a SD camcorder that uses a memory card.

Well, if you are gonna do all that, you will loose some resolution.
    (quality loss).

    Bruce,
I hear so often where individuals speak a lot of bull on forums,
especially about this and that software will soon be discontinued
    etc…..Acid isn’t going anywhere.
If you still don’t want to take the plunge in Acid, you can get
‘Sonic Fire Pro’ as Allen spoke of earlier…which works with
cinematic library music you can customize and manipulate infinitely.

What is the file format you are working with here?
and i am not too clear when you say “if I want to fast forward something“….If you meant speed up the playback, have you actually
tried holding down ‘ctrl’ while you drag the edge of the clip to the left(shortening it)?

    Mike is correct,
You can only change the folder where the temporary files are stored:
…In Preferences, then under the General tab.
