render at 3 frames per second?
How do you set custom frame rates for rendering in Vegas. I see where in the render and project settings you can choose 12 fps, but I want to render an avi clip with 3 fps so it looks like a slide show. Can someone point out the method for doing that?

Sorry Mary,
You wont get that perfect desired look by changing the frame rate
during rendering. You are referring to a term known as “stop motion”,
and the only way you can achieve that look is by using a filter.
A plugin that integrates with vegas and achieve this perfectly
is ‘pixelan CreativEase’ over at “pixelan.com” …..You can try the demo and many of its various presets, i am sure will find the perfect effect you are looking for.Steve Rhoden

Very true. Render the sequence and then pull #1,8,16,24, etc. This might be best because if a frame is smeared or jagged you could pull another good one near it. Pull only the best stills.
Drop all the stills into Photoshop, examine and then save the ones you want in a new number sequence. You could import that new number sequence if you liked as a clip. That would be your time-lapse. Loading each frame on the timeline would be your slide show.

That is a great idea. This was for an idea I had for a scene in a film I made this weekend with some people for Madison’s 48 film contest. We just finished and I didn’t have time to try the technique. Never did a contest like this before. Really exhausting but really fun. We drew horror for our genre. I did all the editing for it in Vegas in 15 hours. all considered it turned out pretty good. I’ll post a link to the film when it is available on the 48 film site.
