you can also first go into vegas preferences, and open the ‘audio device’ tab and adjust the playback buffering and try a few other tweaks and see if things playback a little bit better from the timeline.

If you are using a dedicated sound card, know the name of it and the series/model, then you visit their website and see where they have
that specific model and if they have the latest driver available for download.
If they do…you then download it, and install.

First, since you are using vegas, i would recommend you use sony’s
Blu-ray authoring software ‘DVD Architect Pro 5’.
Then you start rendering in vegas using the various built-in ‘mpeg2 blu-ray render templates’ and in no time you’ll have the hang of things.

Are you using the built in HD-SDI capture utility ? Then make sure
you select the device (ieee 1394/mpeg2-ts device).
Or you can try a free tool name “CapDVHS” and see how well it captures.

Sorry you have not arrived at a solid solution as yet for this
problem…Only thing that i would recommend you do then, is to
render out using the uncompressed format as you say which gives you
the best result….then place it back in vegas…and maybe reduce the contrast and brighten it up a bit and then render it out to the
format you ultimately desire.
Sorry i can’t suggest a better solution.

I could go on a bit more of its features, but you will discover them
as you use it.
It also has the ability to not only capture your video in individual scene cuts (DV Tape time stamp), but also in one complete file.

Check your audio settings and since you are online….update your
audio driver, just to make sure….and see if this helps.

From what i see,that is how the video would look during rendering.
Nothing wrong there. The question is…does it look that way on the finished rendered video? and what media player do you view the finished video in?
