Your built in graphics card on your laptop cannot run looks,
that is why it crashes on initialization, because initialization
is the process of accessing your plugins before vegas starts.
Your other system will run looks beautifully if it has
powerful and up to date graphics installed.
All you need to do is read the graphics requirements on the site
and you will know definitely what it will work on.

Vegas is crashing Drake, because your video card does not fit the
requirements to run it properly.
Looks is entirely GPU dependent in past versions like what you
just got.

These issues you are having are directly associated with Crazy
Talk and should be made to their support team instead of here.

I have used crazy talk in the past, but personally after version 4,
Crazy Talk has become a puddle of irregularities,
bugs and issue after issue. And their new product doesn’t gives me
much confidence either.

So, contact them with what you have posted above.

Why not render your video as mpeg2 and use a DVD Burning software,
like DVD Architect or other to burn it to disc…
Thats the best method i always recommend.

Only the early versions of magic bullet looks are compatible
with sony Vegas. They recently came out with a new version (1.4.3)
which does not rely entirely on GPU processing BUT drop support for Sony Vegas.
So now vegas users are out of luck if they dont have earlier versions.
They say they may in the future consider supporting vegas again.
(OMG, when will companies stop these cat and mouse games).
We can always say they dropped support because their wasn’t enough
vegas buyers etc, etc or the shortcomings of Vegas etc…..But its more than that.

Never really gave any of the two (Gspot or MediaInfo) even a
glance….But all this talk of MediaInfo has gotten me interested,

Worry not, Vegas Movie Studio 9 will run on that system and will
get all your editing tasks that you have planned, completed.
But you know an upgrade is necessary if you want to take things
a notch higher and do some serious editing.
