You can simply just put an extra video track above everything, then drop
a black solid color (say 2 seconds) where you want the fade in and fade out,
then fade the edges of the black solid color accordingly… and you’re done!Steve Rhoden (Cow Leader)

Your laptop is a little under powered for such a task and for rendering time.
You at least should have more than 4GB of memory installed.
Don’t get me wrong, it can still be done, but you can get thru the entire
