    Hey guys,

I’m new to working with a green screen, but have got it pretty down pat in terms of how to get the chroma keyer settings working and backgrounds put in place.

My problem occurs with my fade in and fade out. My videos are always of an individual person talking on screen with a superimposed background. When I fade these videos in on Vegas… they never seem to be in sync. There is always a moment when my subject is transparent, or on the screen too long, or the background is slightly lagged etc etc… regardless of whether I line up the fade in tool to the mili second, it always comes out messy.

    Any tips?

    TIA.
    Nick

I would Render Region first. THEN do any edit fades. Kinda kills the issues.

You can simply just put an extra video track above everything, then drop
a black solid color (say 2 seconds) where you want the fade in and fade out,
then fade the edges of the black solid color accordingly… and you’re done!

Just to reiterate Steve’s suggestion – I had the same issue and using a solid black event and fading it set on a track above the otehr tracks will give you a perfect fade.
