Thank you Graham and Roger, I’ll try this, should work. 🙂

Sony AVC encoder….I’m assuming you’re talking about the “Render” function? Back when I was using Movie Studio 8.0 there was a button along the top row that I could hit (I think it was some sort of render button) that gave me the option of rendering the video as an email attachment. I always used this option to make video for the internet. This option is gone in Vegas Pro 9.0 and as far as I can see, there are no internet options. I guess I could use MOV for more efficient file size.

I’m no expert like the guys above, but I have had this problem before. To solve this I would just render in WMV, Windows movie format. This seems to work well.

If this component video to DV cam works it would be absolutely ingenious and worthy of buying a DV cam by itself.

Thank you so much Mr Rofrano for your kind advice. Do you know a tutorial or something that can “walk me through” this because I’m kind of new to DVD Architect (well, this part of it anyways).
I can follow you up until setting the “end action”. I have it linked to the transition video but when I choose “End Action” I have the following options:
Command = Link
Destination = Most Recent Menu
Destination Item = StartThis is the part where I *think* you were talking about linking up to the movie. Unfortunately there’s no way I can link to the movie unless the movie is already on the DVD somewhere. And if I put the DVD somewhere on the front page menu, I can try to make the button “text only” and then delete the text so that there is no button visible and only the link to the transition exists. Is this the way to do it?

Isn’t H264 also used in AVCHD recordings? My older version of Vegas 8 will not support AVCHD, however Vegas 9 Pro will support it. Are you using Vegas Movie Studio or “Pro”?

Thanks John for your help. I’ll try to keep the tip in mind when shooting. I just bought this little camera (Pan ZR-1) and I was testing it. I usually shoot a little better than that. 🙂
In Sony Vegas 8 there was an option to click “Make DVD” on the top toolbar, or the tool bar just below the main toolbar. Anyways, it gave option. I had the option to output to DVD, Save to Hard drive, Burn to CD ROM, Save to Web, or Email it. I usually choose “Email It” and then it would output a very small file size that I could upload to Youtube.
Why can’t I find this option in Sony Vegas Pro 9.0?

I would not reinstall Sony Vegas since you had already successfully rendered many videos in the past. That doesn’t make any sense. I would transfer the video file from your camera again, if possible. What may have happened is your video file may have become corrupted or something and it’s causing a hangup with Vegas.

I’ll go ahead and answer my own question. I went into Properties and changed the setting to HDV 1280 X 720 30 fps. That did the trick! Now no more crazy lines! Yay! I guess it was rendering in NTSC which I figured was the way to go because my tv is NTSC right? Unless HDTV’s are not considered NTSC and considered HDV? This is all new to me so forgive me if I sound newbish. I wonder how Blu-Ray will complicate matters?

Maybe the question I should be asking is what everyone uses for post video editing/processing? Does anyone here work with AVCHD? If so, what settings are best? Should I render the final cut in NTSC Widescreen format? The software I use is Sony Vegas Pro 9.0.
