The Nvidia 8400M GS is very slow video card. That might be your bottleneck. Most laptop do not allow upgrade to video card, that’s one of the drawbacks of a laptop.

I couldn’t find your exact card here, but I did find the 8400 G which I’m assuming is similar to the 8400M:

Let me rephrase my question. The “lines” that I’m talking about are not actually physical lines. But the video seems kind of choppy, it’s not smooth. How do I make the smooth?

When you click on “Save” or “Save As” does it show the folder where the file is being saved?

So from what I understand Vegas Video 8 is designed to take advantage of the quad core processors? Maybe I should upgrade. These 1 hour rendering times for 1 hour video is driving me crazy.

Mr Rhoden, is it easy to install the codec after I download it? I don’t understand why sometimes I can see the video and sometimes I can’t. If I need the codec for it to work in Vegas how come sometimes I can still see it?

Thank you John, it worked! Now just have to test it and see…

If you don’t mind me asking another Question, how do you add video to the background? I went to the tutorial and it said something about adding video to the Playlist. So I tried to add some of the existing video to the Playlist but I couldn’t add it. The reason I wanted to use existing video is so that I would not increase the length of the DVD. Is there an easy way to do this?
