Problem viewing a rendered video
Im working in sony vegas 9.
I have rendered my project into a fullhd mainconcept .mp4 at 67 080 192 avg bitrate.
While viewing the video in any of the players available (VLC, MP…) I can not search or go into a specific point of the clip using the slider. I Must be doing something fundamentally wrong, anyone have any idea what could cause this?
Imported files are from a canon DSLR and pre-rendered in CineForm for editing.
Render settings:
Audio: 192 Kbps; 96 000 Hz; 24 Bit; Stereo; AAC
Video: 25 fps; 1920×1080 Progressive; YUV; 67,1 Mbps
Pixel Aspect Ratio: 1,000

I’m no expert like the guys above, but I have had this problem before. To solve this I would just render in WMV, Windows movie format. This seems to work well.

Probably because your rendering at a very high bitrate and sample rate. I’m suprized your, or any computer can play that at all. I would try the best Sony AVC mp4 with 20mbps and 48k sample rate. If that’s not good enough quality, use the Main Concept AVC where you can raise the bitrate higher than 20mbps. What’s the bitrate of your original footage? No use setting it higher than that. You can’t hear the difference between 48k and 96k samplerate. 96k and 192k are used for multitrack audio mixing mainly.
