What frame size are you ripping to? What size does it say in the project panel?

I have heard about similar problems from people using subclips from long master clips. Is that the case for you? If so, try exporting out the subclip to a new DV AVI and then replace the subclip. That should help.

Once a PSD is imported, it is not easy to deal with changes. That is really a task for After Effects.

Sure.
Reveal the title with the Crop effect. Use Hold Keyframes so that the letters get revealed one at a time rather than smoothly.
If you do this often, you might want to look into using After Effects which has a lot of great text effects.

There is no way to shorten a sequence like there is in After Effects. But, there is no reason to do so that I can think of.
If you don’t want to use the rest of the sequence, then don’t.
Perhaps if you shared your workflow with us, we would understand the issue better, and have a solution that might suit you.

You are looking for trouble. There is no way that I know of to capture on a PC in MOV format to use on a Mac. There is probably a program that will make the conversion, but I don’t personally know of any.
I know it is tough to accept, but there is a difference between the way a Mac works and the way a PC works. Yet, the material on the tape is identical. So you would think it would be simple, wouldn’t you?

No and No.
Constant Power transitions are added one at a time unless using Animate to Sequence. Use Page Down to get to each cut and use Ctrl-Shift-D to apply the default audio transition.
Clips on the timeline need to be trimmed one end at a time. I can’t even imagine how one keystroke could possibly be used.
