Having your name in red helps you spot your own posts. M posts show my name in red as well. Quite handy. I also would be interested in being able to occasionally rent a room outfitted in ReflecMedia. Buying that stuff is just something I can’t justify.

Yes, but it is a lot easier in After Effects. If you don’t have it, download the trial and export a clock with a duration long enough to handle and game. The number effect is quite easy to use.

Trim the project in the Project Manager if you want to create new AVI files from subclips.

A subclip is a clip that refers to the master clip, but with different in and out points. When you use a subclip in a project, you have a section of the master clip that can be uniquely named. Also, when you use Project Manager to trim the project, the subclips are turned into master clips so that you can avoid having to use the master clip from that point on.

It is important to know if you mean “rendering” as in creating Preview Files, or “rendering” as in creating a new file via exporting.
The first is processor intensive and the second is disk intensive.
When I got my E6800 system I was unable to get a good score on the Premiere Pro benchmark. But after tweaking my disk drive settings, I blew past the competition.

I stand corrected. I was wrong. The press release does say that it will replace Audition on the Studio. That is just stupid. There must be a groundswell of protest or we will all be sadly cheated.
Perhaps the press release is wrong? I sure hope so.

It is a simple tool for simple tasks, and is designed for people who think Audition is too complicated. I might be convinced that it would replace audition in the Standard Edition, but not in the Pro Edition that I use.

The audio will go to were it belongs. Mono to mono and Stereo to Stereo. What is your master track? And what are you trying to export too?

Well, according to the most common Premiere Pro benchmark, I have officially leashed a monster. I come in third behind a couple of dual, dual-core systems. I had some issues with the hard drive settings, but I fumbled around a bit and now they are as fast as they should be. I haven’t tried the HDV tests that I need to play with, but I am expecting good results.

Better? Perhaps, but not necessarily. I prefer to shoot HDV for a couple of reasons. You have to scale it down to make it fit, which means you can zoom all the way back up to 100% without quality loss. Which looks like you are zooming in. Comes in handy. The other issue is that you can get an HDV project later should you want to.
