Use the shortcut keys to set the in and out points of the workarea. Just set the CTI where you want it first. Or, if you slice the audio with the razor, the edges of the work area should snap to them.

Sounds like a memory leakage. Does it happen right after a reboot as well?

Or a codec issue. Are these clips captured from a MiniDV clip, or downloaded from somewhere?

Probably not.

Here is what I suggest.

Shoot something with great lighting, and good colors, and great contrast against the background. Put it on a timeline, flip a copy on the next higher track, and then split screen the two by cropping the higher track to 50% from the left.

Export to the usual media – DVD or whatever – and then make your comparison. Look at both at the same time on the split screen and decide for yourself. Only you can make the decision.

Make sure you put enough on the timeline to give yourself time to decide. A couple of minutes at least. Maybe more. Also do this with the type of material you usually shoot.

Well, technically, yes. A little.

The footage will require rendering, and therefore recompression. But I would not consider this enough of a problem to stop you from doing it.

I got the Mack Warranty. I am not sure if I would do it again, but I certainly wanted a warranty of some sort. I really wish there was someone local – or rather – the new local for me – which will be in Orlando Florida in a few months. I hate to think about sending it off and being without the camera for a few weeks.

If I could figure out my wife’s filing system easily, I would tell you more about the Mack Warranty. But, alas, it is buried somewhere.

The title has to be put on track two or above, and it needs to have the other clip below it. The picture you see in the titler window is only showing what is under the CTI. It does not become a part of the title.

You can easily put markers at certain points while listening to the clip by tapping the asterisk key on the numeric keyboard (not above the 8).

To set the In and Out points is a simple “I” or “O” key.

I suggest that you use Image Pan instead of Motion in 6.5 – while in Premiere Pro, Motion is the way to go.
